Financial District Cosmetic Dentistry

For our patients who want to improve the appearance of their smiles, we offer a comprehensive range of high quality cosmetic dentistry treatments and procedures.

Tooth-Colored Composite Fillings

Many people try to hide their smiles when around others because they feel self-conscious about the appearance of their unsightly metal fillings. If you have old amalgam or metal fillings in your mouth that you do not like the appearance of, tooth-colored composite fillings may be ideal for you. These modern, natural looking fillings are long-lasting and help keep your teeth strong and resistant to injury. When you have composite fillings, most people won’t even notice they’re there.

Dental Implants

Considered the standard in tooth replacement, dental implants are a great way to replace missing teeth. A dental implant is a small screw-like post made of titanium that is implanted in the jawbone to replace a missing tooth root. Once a healing process has occurred, the procedure is completed by placing an artificial tooth top or crown on top of the implant. Dental implants are very natural looking, durable, comfortable, and require little upkeep once they’re in place. Implants look, feel, and function just like natural teeth and they can last for many long years. The best candidates for dental implants are patients who have sufficient bone and gum tissue, although exceptions can be made.

Dental Bonding

Your smile may not be as attractive as you like if you have discolored, broken, crooked, or misshapen teeth. You can restore your smile with dental bonding for a big boost of self-confidence. A bonding procedure involves our dentist gently applying a thin layer of tooth-colored resin or plastic material to the teeth which will then bond to the tooth to restore or improve the patient’s smile.

Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are thin layers of porcelain which are bonded onto the teeth to create healthy looking teeth without the use of orthodontics. This procedure typically requires two visits to our office. During the first visit, your Lower Manhattan dentist will remove a small amount of enamel and take an impression. The impression is sent to our skilled and highly qualified technicians who design the custom veneers. It usually takes between 7 and 10 days for the veneers to arrive at our Wall Street office. During this period, the patient will wear temporary veneers that have been custom crafted by the dentist.

Porcelain Inlays/Onlays

When large fillings located in back teeth are replaced, they typically require stronger and more precisely contoured restorations. These restorations are called inlays or onlays, depending on whether they are being placed inside the tooth or on its outer surface. It typically requires two visits to our office to have inlays and outlays placed due to the fact that these restorations are custom-crafted at an off-site dental lab.

Once the inlays or onlays have been returned to our FiDi office, we ask the patient to return for the placement of the restorations. Onlays provide protection to teeth much like crowns do, but they conserve more of the natural tooth structure. Our dentists have improved the appearance and function of many of our patients’ smiles through the placement of porcelain inlays and onlays.

Porcelain Crowns

Porcelain crowns may be for you if you have broken down teeth or if you are looking for a solution after having a root canal done. Porcelain crowns are strong, durable and long-lasting. Once you have a porcelain crown placed, you will regain function of your tooth so you can bite and chew efficiently without any pain. A porcelain crown can also be a great solution if you have one single tooth that is discolored, chipped or cracked. A crown or cap as it is also often called, can be placed over the damaged tooth to hide its imperfections while providing extra support.

Porcelain Bridges

For patients missing two or more teeth in a row, porcelain bridges can be a good permanent and discreet alternative to dentures. Like the name suggests, bridges literally bridge spaces between teeth to improve the appearance of a smile. A bridge can also help the patient speak more clearly, chew food more efficiently, and bite down without worrying about pain. The Exchange Dental Group offers several types of bridges including traditional, implant, Maryland, and modern porcelain, so we are sure to have an option for any patient wanting to close the gaps in their smile.
